Unhappy Rider Dead after woman backs up on ramp on 45

Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist who was killed after crashing into a car that was backing up on a Gulf Freeway entrance ramp Sunday night, authorities said.

A woman was driving a white Explorer south in the 13100 block of Gulf Freeway around 8:30 p.m. when she drove onto an entrance ramp just past Fuqua, said Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes officer Sgt. R. Gonzales.

In an attempt to get back on the service road, the woman put her vehicle in reverse and began backing up on the entrance ramp, Gonzales said.

A motorcyclist traveling onto the entrance ramp then crashed into the rear of the Explorer, Gonzalez said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

Authorities were still trying to determine if charges will be filed in the case.

No further information was immediately available.

Is this the same accident or was there another?

On our ride today three county sheriffs (in Coldsprings) came in and said they had worked two accidents today. Nothing serious (road rash) on cruisers.

Pssht, what a slap in the face.

Put that stupid on a moped northbound on Gulf Freeway at rush hour and point her in the southbound direction, I say.

That is really sad...

My bad. I did quote you- but only to agree with you. I didn't clarify my statement.

The woman driving the suv is retarded. And she should be held completely responsible. Who backs up off an entrance ramp? Just go to the next exit...

No prob. I would be interested to know the age of the driver. Teen grils are the suck at making decisions especially when it comes to driving.

Rider Dead after woman backs up on ramp on 45

this should be manslaughter charges in my opinion. I see this too often.

I along with David, Ryne, and Noah was there. We were at Carmax and heard it as soon as we walked out of the building. Saw the victim (after responders arrived on the scene). We were trying to figure out WTH happened.

May he RIP!
