BTW: Hyundai is actually "safer" than Mercedes in crash tests. For example 2006 Sonata earned 5 star crash ratings on front, rear, and both sides. A Mercedes E class, however, only earned 4 stars on the sides. The old mantra of "you get you pay for" does not always apply.
o that cleared up Thanks

yes, but maybe arai was a big advertiser in the magazine/website you read it! then that would invalidate everything.

I've personally tested an Arai a few years ago, and I CAN say that I have no complaints. Luckily that is the only time I have had to test one out, and hopefully I won't have to tell you how it compares to my HJC, Scorpion, and the new Dainese bluetooth helmet (whenever that comes out). No personal comparisons from me.

not really getting your point, arai doesn't advertise on any website i've seen other then their own.......

they did advertise in motorcyclist mag., but not to the extent of P/U

another example, friend of mine in Canada,

It is .
it is uncomfortable, fogs up and is ugly.

I prefer my Shark RSR and Shoei.
is it any less safe then an arai? don't know......you hardly hear this complaint about arais. and the Z1r is the lid recommended by motorcyclist mag.

i could only find a couple of links for testing Arai helmets. Neither of them seem to impressed with it.

The styling department is a totally different debate. I will agree, Racer, that I haven't heard complaints about Sheoi and Arai about fit/finish. Any lid is better than none IMO. , Wal-Mart even sells helmets.

Actually, they're made by Bell.

I'll look for that Barbie edition for you. If I find it you gotta wear it. Deal?

i personally wouldnt ever wear anything less than a shoei or arai ... right now im rocking a shoei rf 1000 tc voltage .. like greg marcus and mark.. they are bad helmets.. i just dont feel comfortable wearing anything less.. walter went down hard and he was wearing a shoei rf1000 and his helmet wasnt that bad at all no structal cracks no tears just some rash.. i think its most or a secruity thing with me.. like i feel more comfortable wearing a more well known helmet.. i by no means bought it to be a "POSER" a poser would buy a cheap hjc with a naked lady on it.. lol

i'm still reading this motorcyclist magazine and it says they hired someone else (david thom) from the HURT report to help set it up. he has his own company - Collision and Injury Dynamics. "He has his own state-of-the-art helmet impact lab where he does impartial, objective certification testing for many helmet companies." Don't you think it's a little radical to assume this was rigged?

I remember something about that rebuttal. I will be getting a helmet that conforms to the ECE standards though.
