good advice

ok i'm getting divorced she's letting me keep the truck, but now i'll have child support so i have to get rid of my harley. i was thinking of trading in on a sport bike, i've wanted one for awhile and have ridin some. i know i'm upside down on my bike and really can't come up with down payment cause she spends money. if anyone has some good advice on what to do or where to go let me know.

the only thing is right now.. nobody is buying bikes because nothing is selling.. That is the only downfall I see.. If a dealership does buy it from you they arent going to give you a fraction of what its really worth. I would probably try to sell it outright on craigslist or such and then shop around.. You will need to see how this lifestyle adjustment with child support will effect you financially.. Plus this summer sportbikes are only going to become cheaper as people get laid off and such.. I know it sucks but its a harsh reality.. Family first

me and her came to an agreement on what child support is going to be, but your right family is first.

I wouldn't do anything until everything is final. After the judge signs the papers you will know what your obligations are. Until then its all up in the air. Enjoy your current ride until that is settled.

What he ^ said... I tell you the attorney general have no mercy for us men once the lady ask for child support... They think we al dead beats and care less of what we have to say...

I'll share a story or a incident...... When me and my little girl mom was together she went and stopped the child support, but some kind of way the ATTORNEY GENERAL didnt finish out the process... So from 2006 up until 2008 they had taken no child support out of any of my checks... I get a letter in the mail saying I owe for backpay and if I dnt pay something soon I will face jail time.. I went in person and the lady that worked there told me out her own mouth it was there fault but as long as my child's mother wanted the backpay I had to pay it!!! (I call bullshit) So i asked could I at least get something in writing to prove that it was there fault because I was trying to get a job and they told me no I couldnt get anything!!! They are real pain in the rearend up there!!!

Sorry to hear this. I say sell the truck and keep the bike.

Jk- I know that's no feasible. I completely understand not being able to afford payments- I'm a student right now and couldn't afford anything extra, myself. Some days it's hard to buy gas. BTW- I'm divorced after 13 years of marriage with two kids and I have gotten exactly four cs checks from the state since 2004. Each one totally no more than $376. Good thing I don't depend on those.

I think when the kids turn 18 (now remember I think) they can collect what was never paid. I can do it to my dad but never did...not worth it IMO. He can suffer without me

I hate that the state says that because they TAKE moneys from his check, that makes him a good father.

Been there done that.

Get the divorce finished, then you know what your child support payment is, it does not matter what she spends you have a fixed obligation on payment no more.

Pay it through the Child Support system/court this way it is all documented legally.

Automatic Pay check withdraw is best way to go.

Remember child support and visitation are two seperate issues.

Try to keep a civil relation with your ex for your childs best inertest.
It is the childs best interest that you need to focus on.
Not yours and not hers.

If she is argumentative keep notes and follow the diviorce decree to the letter.
Do not be afraid to take her back to court if she violates the decree, you need to be firm to keep things in order.

But you can her off a little by keeping the bike.

Good Luck

Look into joining a credit union, if you do this then look at refinancing any loans you have at a lower interest rate or longer time.
This will help your cash flow.

Visitations cost money, more as they get older , and even more if one moves away more than 100 miles.

Good Luck

went to court, and the judge knocked it down to $320 a month, and what i paid in cash doesnt count for .

but she was when they lowered her support

Credit Union for better loan plan.
Not trying to be a smart ,but maybe a part time job would help, if you can find one .
