yo u dont need to use sprecher, although he is def 'one of the best' all he is gonna do is reschedule ur court date and hope the cop doesnt show up. any lawyer can do that, just use citizen law firm, they are $35 for each violation, so you will pay 70 bucks. then u go to court, cop doesnt show up and u leave. if he does, just do deferred or defensive driving. and u do not have to take a motorcycle specific defensive driving course

Be sure and check the court costs. I got one last week for unsafe passing. League City charges $107.00 in court costs plus the cost of the Defensive driving course. I haven't had a moving violation in almost 20 years, so I'm either going deferred or defensive driving.

You don't even have to go to court to do the defensive driving option - just read the back of your ticket. You will have to obtain a certified copy ($10)of your driving record that shows you haven't taken it in the last year which you need to turn in along with proof of taking the course when done. You can even take the course online for about $35. It takes about 6 hours and you will have to sit thru all of it - there is no way to get around it; although you can start and stop as often as you like. If you go that route the ticket never appears on your record and you can even get a discount on your insurance.
Also , the last time I saw a City of Houston ticket it even had the option for getting the deferred adjudication on the back but I don't remember what the exact procedure was.
I usually save the lawyer option for the biggies

Last week I was riding with another MH member, we got pulled over on 290.
For some reason they got a ticket and I did not.

While later discussing this they mentioned deferred adjudication.
Appreantly if you are less then 25 mph over the limit you have this option.
As I understand it if you take this option and have no more tickets in the next 3 months that is the end of it.

Check it out - thats just my understanding.

Good Luck

that's true, but the last time I asked for deferred it was going to cost significantly more than the ticket itself.....guess too many people were taking that route
