Got a ticket last night, need advice

Got a 15 mile over speed limit ticket last night, and licence tag light ticket. Can you get the speeding ticket deferred? My light was just shorted out. THis happen to anyone, it's my first ticket in Texas.

you will have to go to court and ask to take defensive drinking.... i mean driving. then search google for te nearest msf location that offers the course. take the course, bring and the paper work, pay the court fees, and bamm youz beez free!

Ok. This is how the traffice ticket lawyers work. They don't have any 'inside deal' with the prosecutors and judges to dismiss your case. That would be illegal, wouldn't it. What they do have are the 'relationship' with the DA.

1st, they're hoping for the officers not to show up. We can do that too.
2nd, they make deal with the DA. So let say Sprecher has ten cases in the docket that day (&they do schedule them together so they can just show up once), he would deal with the DA so that easy cases got dismissed and hard cases got deferred jusdiscation or reduced charges. Then Sprecher talked to the poor sap that got sold down the river and told him this is the best deal you're gonna get so better take it. It's a win, win situation for everybody, the DA, the lawyer, the judge.

I'm not against the system because that is how I usually got off because there is always a guy with a case that looks worse than mine. So if you think that you can walk in there with a suspensed license, no ins, 20 over speed limit and got your case dismissed, you are sadly mistaken. You are the poor sap that got sold down the river so the rest of us can get off.

I hang out with a lot of lawyers and this is how got done. You don't have to believe me... Just take it for what it is worth

No, I appreciate the input, I have my endorsement, everything was legal on my bike with insurance and all, just got clocked, and the bullshit part is that he said, we were clocked( 3 of us) at 50, but only wrote the ticket for 45. Not sure, but whatever, I think I'll call the lawyer. Sounds like it will cost the same.
Thanks

They are a necessary evil, and to Jay and cdill. I agree with you, I broke the law, and it was stupid. I should have known better, that used to be my old neighborhood, and piney point cops got nothing better to do. Live and learn

he wrote you up for only 15 over cause 20 over is a significantly higher fine, perhaps?

I thought anything below 25 over you can opt (with the judge approval of course) to take defensive driving for the ticket to get dismissed (no record).
