Routes are a laid out path that bikes ride. usually beginning at pp1 and ending at pp1. They include many freeways and interchanges. There will be 15+ riders. Usually there are no rules. They hammer is on the straights, split cars, ride on shoulders etc...then park it in the corners. They change lanes without notification, pass in your lane. Some will have gear but most will only have a helmet some actually have no gear at all. Speeds in excess of 120mph, from the slow guys....160+ from the better riders. (in the straights only cuz most have trouble turning thier bikes).

People wreck doing routes all the time. And the outcome is not usually good.

Some guys will take noobs with them cuz it makes them look faster than they really are.

I have done plenty of them but it is really really really really fukked up and stupid. Everytime I do one, I feel like a fkn loser when I am done and I swear them off forever.

And then I find myself on another one a month later.

It's not the "route" per se that is so bad, it's the riding within close proximity of undertalented unpredictable and unknown people that whacks me out.

My suggestion.... do some track days....then if you want to do a route....smoke those clowns that think they are fast.

Then retire from doing them.

I see, so routes are not rides. Can we add a forum that's titled "routes"?
