Yeah, I dont get why you wouldnt.

But more laws, more money brought in by the tax collectors formerly known as the police. (not the ones with Sting, either)

They tell you when you get the MSF certificate, that to be helmet exempt you must go to the DPS and fill out the form, pay the $5 or whatever the cost is. Then you get a sticker that shows you are exempt.

If someone doesn't want to get a ticket for no helmet, then that is what they need to do. Its not a hard concept if you ask me... just lazyness. You had to go down there to take the test, why not fill out the form.

I for one dont see why someone would not want to wear a helmet... but to each their own. I dont agree with a helmet law, as I feel that its not going to hurt anyone else but themselves if they dont wear it. If they want to take that chance its on them. Not gonna hurt my head if they crash. But it is a law, and we have to follow it.

If that is what is required to not get a ticket, and the person doesn't do that.; then they have no right to complain about getting the ticket. Simple as that if you ask me.

Don't think/recall if it was a requirement back when some of us started riding and got legal.

Why not wear a helmet? Ask the dog with it's head out the car window.

I don't think they should be able to give you a ticket if you can
show a license with a Class M and an insurance coverage card.

The only problem I see with others not wearing helmets is when my tax funded public health care has to pay for their stupidity when they go down.

I don't understand why this is a problem this is the law i've gotten a ticket for this once about 4 years ago after my helmet got stolen and I didnt have one ;( it sucks but it's the law.

If you wanna ride w/o a helmet it'll cost you a 5 dollar money order and a stamp to mail it in.

on a side note if I ever become a cop in Houston you better believe I'm going to pull EEVERRYYYEYYONE over that is not wearing a helmet and they get a ticket

This reminds me of the stupid seatbelt law. If you are an adult and choose not to wear a seatbelt, then it's your own fault for getting killed. Plus the fine is just a way to get quick money.

Also as I posted before, I'm not anit-helmet but anti-law. I wear mine a majority of the time. it all depends on conditions.
but the sticker IS required.....

honestly...how is a little M and a piece of insurance paper going to protect your head...are those like magic cloaks or something...?

the only reason I could possibly think to ride w/o a helmet is to get a little more attention from the girlies at a bike rally or something...but still...the true flirting game doesn't start until the bike stops...so wear your pride and joy lid with sum friggin pride and joy

FAQ#2 -

2. Is the helmet exemption sticker required before a motorcyclist can ride without a helmet?

No. The sticker indicates that the motorcyclist meets the requirement for riding without a helmet, and law enforcement officers will presume that they do. Without the sticker motorcyclists may be requested to show police officers their proof of course completion or insurance coverage.
I never ride without helmet except to corner starbucks and Motorcycles Unlimited which is 2 miles away or so. I have the sticker just so the man will hopefully leave me alone. Technically I think the above is correct, but if you have a sticker they shouldn't pull you over in the first place, unless you're riding dirty

Bingo!

Now is there ANY medical insurance that does NOT provide 10K coverage?
Presuming no, then presentation of an employer provided (or self purchased insurance) insurance card should be sufficient.
