Welcome lilwaters. I purchased my bike thru Mancuso Powersports on US 59 @ Fondren. I got a good deal. I fincance thru my bank and told them what I was gonna pay when I walked out the door. No haggeling at all. I left with the bike I wanted for the price I told them... Got a great deal!

Welcome!

Dont forget BRC/MSF while you wait and save plenty for gear... its the best insurance.

Financing in-house may not always be the best option. For more bang/buck usually consignment or private property will earn more.

Best option would be to bite your lip and pay it outright to avoid interest. Plus it gives you plenty of time to come across better buys.

Good luck shoping and hope to see you out there at the meet and greets!

thanks everyone, can someone tell me a good starter bike? i was looking at a cbr 600 or a gxsr 600. I heard 250's are too small and wont even be able to keep up on the highway...

Start on a 250 if you have no experience. You'll need to not keep up to learn throttle control. Plus, there's no shame in riding a 250- esp not the newer models- some of the more experienced riders are buying them, too!

MSF and ATGATT! Safety first- before you buy or ride the bike.

I'm glad to hear you're wanting used- believe it or not, you can get a great used bike for about $2-$3k. It may not be the prettiest bike in the neighborhood, but they retain their value, and are easy to resell.

Good luck! See you out there!

The ninja 250 will have no problem with keeping up with traffic and go faster then you ever need to do on a public road.

With the economy as it is, if your credit isn't good... you're not likely going to get good news or a decent interest rate... but another advantage of the 250 ninja's, you can sell the things fairly easily and pretty close to what you bought em for if you don't trash em
