Speaker Scam..Dont fall for it

So I was at the cheveron station at the intersection of voss and westhiemer, minding my own business when these two shady white guys pulled up in a ford minivan. This guy came up to me and asked me if I was interested in a really nice home stereo system for really cheap. So, being the kind of person that is always looking for a good deal I check out what hes got. He claimed that he installed these for some company and when he went to pick them up they gave him an extra set and wanted to get rid of it. He even showed me a magazine that had them listed for 2000 bucks. I dont remember the exact brand, but they were an "L6 6.1 set". I made him take them out of the box, and they looked like maybe a 50 dollar set and told him to off. He even had a fake home install carbon receipt that looked legit.

When I got home I googled the speakers he had for sale, and it turns out these guys go from city to city pulling the same , and a bunch of ppl have fallen for it.

read this: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin...ead.cgi?3244,5

anyway, just thought i would give you guys the heads up.

I tried, but it was one of those temporary plates that dealers give out.

That is one of the oldest scams in the book. I mean the same setup, the same mag. I have probably been approached with that scam like 3/4 times and one of the times in California the guy didn't have anything in the boxes and was like ill load them up for you man, you dont even have to do any work. If a deal at a gas station sounds to good to be true. . . run.
