would you ride on the street with no turn signals?

im selling my bike and i thought i was going to get a car next, but then i happened upon a wr426 on craigslist. the bike looks to be pretty great. i have been wanting a dirtbike for a while, and here is this one. its street legal and would get me to wherever i need to go. its got 2 things im not used to though. a kickstart and no turn signals. im not worried about the kickstart, but the turn signals seem like an issue to me. i have some bright led signals on my bike which really help me to be noticed by the other drivers on the road.
anyways, would you do it?

Yeah, why make a dangerous vehicle such as a motorcycle more dangerous.

I gotta have bright turn signals, I could care less how they make the bike look. I have always been one for safety over looks.

Looks interesting, But:

1) Why did the rings need replaced?
2) I would double check the street legal part.

Just beacuse it has headlight and taillight does not make it street legal.

As I recall bikes used to require the following to be street legal.

a) High Beam Low Beam indicator light.
b) Horn
c) A mirror
d) Speedometer
e) Turn Signals (Required if the bike was sold factory street legal and originally had turn signals, some older bikes, early 70's and back were street legal without turn signals. Laws have changed)

Take a close look at this street legal issue, if its not not how much work you need to put into it to make is so, and if there is any legal paper work to it.

At the Yahama site it is listed as a off road bike.

Good Luck

Front turn signals are required;

Rears are not so long as you use hand signals.

I don't have turn signals and it dose not bother me at all. I need some good mirrors though. I would be more worried about having to kick start a bike.
That is a race bike and i would be really concerned about ridding on the road with it. If you are just using it to play around on then I think you will be ok.

turn signals are not required on a motorcycle, but if they are on there they are required to be working, according to the tx dps site.

I rolled without them for almost half a year, never had any issues. honestly.. I don't even think cars really pay attention to turn signals on bikes at all. they'll rarely slow down so you can get in their lane, especially when all these noobs are riding down the street or freeway with their turn signal flashing the whole time bc they forgot to turn it off.

you dont need a speedo or a turn signals to be street legal

you need high and low beam, high and low indicator, one rear view mirror, and a tail light. it doesnt have to have a brake light either. braking and turn signals arent needed. just a rear marker light is required. however. if none are there then the hand signals should be used as a replacement. and if you have just front turn signals then you are required to have all 4. you cant run just one set. its all or nothing

Brake lights are required. So is a white light illuminating the license plate. Technically, also must have a rear reflector unless it's built into the tail light. But they never seem to look for that.
