The club's patch is a very seriously protected thing. Some clubs have them trademarked (HA's come to mind) and their ownership of them has held up in court. Yes, the state has been forced to return a members cut to the club if they arrested the member. It could not be retained, or even used, as evidence.

You don't like them. Fine. That's your choice - but do so for the right reasons, not because you don't know any better.

The difference is, wearing an HPD uniform and impersonating an officer is ILLEGAL. Putting a PATCH on your jacket is NOT illegal (unless TM'd as you state). Regardless, assaulting someone for doing so IS illegal.

It may not be illegal in the sense that you'll face justice from the state, but conceptually it is the same. You're attempting to impersonate someone you aren't.
