I have hadsome really stupid things happen at a shop I worked at. Watched a mechanic leave the door open lifted the car up the door caught the over head and tore it off where it was just hanging on. No oil, ntb did that once to me, at ron carter hummer a tech forgot to torque down a rim and the customer completely lost the rim on the highway.

That's really not so bad. I had a 650i come in as a flood car. It was running too. I couldnt figure out how the porter parked it etc if it was a flood car. The customer brought it to an independant shop and they turned down fixing it. There was no oil in it.

We drove it in/out of the shop constantly(knowing it was getting an engine) and never had issues with it freezing. it takes alot of heat to seize an engine. A start up/shut off wont do it.

And now I think back, one of our techs(that went to Austin) did an oil change on a 745Li. No oil; the car was washed and taken by the customer. He got a town north before the engine started making severe noise. I would have expected it to stop during idling at the carwash.

hehe i did it once years ago... guy comes in for a royal purple oil change and to install adjustable cam gears... since it was on a lift i drained the oil, swapped oil filters, tightened drain plug... after cam gears and timing belt, went for a test... noticed oil pressure light winkin at me... oh dayam, shut her down and pushed car back... added oil, and all good... since then i dont do oil changes anymore( i will if we are really backed up) whew glad im shop manager now...
