RIDE2DIE

It's not a catchy thread title, it's a website.
I'm sure some of you have visited it a few times or so.
If you have not, I suggest you do. It's good food for thought.

I'll warn you, it's EXTREMELY graphic and disturbing.
Do I like to look at it? no, but you know what?
It puts me in my place and gets me thinking every time I'm out on the bike.
I stay well aware of my surroundings and the consequences for my actions.
Common sense, but, when riding a motorcycle, stuff can go from good to VERY bad in an instant.

I've been wearing proper safety gear from the beginning.
After seeing some of the aftermath on this site, you can bet I'll always be geared up.
Hopefully, it will change the minds of a few of you.
Personally, I'd rather help a friend up from an accident vs. watching their brains get swept up off the road.

Proceed with caution www.ride2die.com

For riders:

Always wear a helmet

Always wear protective gear

Never ride under the influence

Ride only in good weather conditions

Ride responsibly

Assume you’re invisible, constantly scan the road

Ride extra defensively

Take regular MSF courses

I agree with the above rules of thumb.

Saw a guy riding yesterday with shorts, flip flops, t shirt and a helmet......ON THE BACK!

It appears the guy in the last picture actually was in full gear. He must have been run over a few times.

Ouch.

Gear isnt the end-all solution.

Many street riders still face their mortality wearing gear. More also survive because of the gear they wore.

I would add 1). Have Medical Insurance or don't ride, 2). have life insurance if you have family, or don't ride 3) have M/C insurance because my rates are too high becuase of all the un-insured

I understand wearing leathers in houston is hot as ****, but I would spend 2hr traffic sweating my off, rather than 2 weeks at home with rashes/whatsoever
