I don't think you rode one of these. This is a moded one, it has a 1098 water cooled engine, you probably rode the stock hypermotard 1098 air cooled. And yes, they are a lot of fun and the best bike lol, oh you can wheelie in first, second and third, i don't recommend first cause you can easily loop it.

you can get the base model or wait a year or so to get the S version at a more reasonable price.

I'd like to try out the hyper motards.
The bars on those things feel really low to me for some reason.
Either that or the seat is too high.
I'm sure they'd be a blast once you got a feel for it.

Thanks for the correction. It was a stock Hypermotard. I wasn't paying attention to the photo or where the link was from. Still an awesome bike. The one I rode was the S with all the upgrades from factory. And I can see how you could loop it. I got it up there pretty high. Just glad I was in the middle of the pack and the two ride leaders didn't see it.

Like I said before, it is imposible for a regular Joe to had the chance to ride this bike, that only hit the showroom floor last Friday, and it must be on display on the floor this whole weekend. No dealer in the Houston area it is going to take the risk of not having it in the showroom because a little accident and parts are of course not available.

So only if you are a head of a dealer, sales manager, work for Pirelli (Tested in Dallas this past weekend stayed at the W hotel and rode it at MSR), press reporter for the motorcycle industry (got to test this in Spain) it is almost 99% of chance that you had NO access to the keys for this bike.

If you read what I posted I said, never said dealers do not allow test rides, of course we do allow test rides to a person that meets the criteria, 1 has interest in the vehicle and it is 2 serious about it, 3 has motorcycle insurance, 4 motorcycle license and 5 appropiate motorcycle gear.

And what is OP?

Where are you guys getting the $21K number for the Streetfighter 'S'? It's $18,995. Also, the 'S' model comes with the forged Marchesini's, Full Ohlins suspension, Traction Control, Ducati Data Analysis system, and more carbon fiber bits than the base model.

I'm buying one...first in line at Ducati Austin. I should be picking it up sometime this coming week.

I need to see one in person.
The pics I had previously seen did'nt impress me that much, but they had some better pics in Motor Cyclist magazine that I liked.
Seems they put more into this bike than I had originally thought.
The only thing it really shares with the 1098 superbike is the engine(although the cases are the lighter vacume formed ones found on the 1198). Everything else is new and better suited for the new riding style.

Qtip,
Looking forward to a full review of this beast, with plenty of pics of course.

I went to the Streetfighter release party at Ducati Austin. I was asked to help unveil the bike since I am first in line. The photos do not do this bike justice! You must see it in person. It is very well put together. I did not test ride it b/c I'm buying one. I did sit on it though, and it was much more comfortable than my 06 R6.
