Team Texas Trackdays Results....

Bad weekend for the team....still had fun, but ran into multiple problems.

Our muffler broke off in the 1st hour of the race. We were black flagged and called in. CMRA official kept us in the pits for a few minutes and gave us the okay to continue on. So on we went again.....only to be flagged down once again and was told the bike was just too loud to continue on. They ended up finding our pipe which got ran over a few times between turn 1 and 2. So they brought it to us, we did our best to get the exhaust back on there with safety wires and all kinds of we had laying around. If i had to guess, we lost a good 30 minutes in the pits from the mishap. happens though and we are still learning the endurance racing deal. We also decided to run 1 set of tires and not changing the rear this time around. well, our rear tire gave out in the 3rd hour slipping and sliding around like it was a wet race. we just kept on truckin and made it throughout the race.

We ended up in 20th place overall out of 27 teams, and 3rd in class...which only carries 3 teams right now. if anybody would like to beat us for last...come join the race before you think you are better than us. last place is the coolest spot to be anyways We shall be more prepared next time around, but I think we did farely well for a team with NO riders EVER setting foot on that track.

Congrats to all the rest of the teams that showed up and did the race. It was a blast.

Me, Alonzo Contreras, Toni Bui, Fabian Saldana, and Derek Steptoe would like to thank Texas Trackdays for the huge support they have gave us in getting where we need to be. They have provided a great opportunity for us and their involvement with us in the CMRA is greatly appreciated. Thanks Meril and Manu.

Also thanks to Motorcycles Unlimited for the work on our bike.....from suspension, brakes, oil, maintenance.....they got it down. John Hutchinson and South central race center for the sticky pirelli tires that made it through the race. Sunny Motorsports for the spare parts he helps us out with. and to the CMRA for a fantastic job on keeping things organized.

Thanks everyone,
Team Texas Trackdays #99

DID I FORGET TO MENTION ALONZO DECIDED TO CRASH THE TEAM BIKE DURING THE ENDURANCE RACE ALSO????

nothing happened to the bike, but we did have to get it back in and get reteched.

i believe we definately would've got top 10 this round. but we didn't....so that's another story. better luck next time. too bad it's gonna be at cresson clockwise....which none of us have ever ridden in that direction either hahaha.

glad to hear your enthusiasm towards endurance racing Tony, it's really the best bang for your buck when it comes to racing motorcycles. your times and your finishes will improve with time, just hang in there and learn to work as 1 unit and it will all come together real soon.

The important thing is that you got laps there as a team and apparently learned an awful lot

I think next year is going to be a much better year after your team's experience this year!

Good job guys. Enduring the pains of the race is part of the endurance race. Better luck at Cresson and let us know if we can help.

So Alonzo crashed twice this weekend?

Well done guys, I might need to take the Grid Management position on the team to solve those minor complications outside the track and have yall focus on riding.

And if course the above statement is just BS as I don't know nothing about racing.

I wouldn't really considered the first one a crash, I was simply trying to take a soil sample of the oklahoma dirt, kind of like a sovenir...

Big thanks again to Texas Trackdays for making this event possible for us, I enjoy endurance racing as much as I do sprints. It's a great pleasure to be a part of such a great team. Thank you again Meril and Manu...

Tony, Thank you for conceiving and putting this team together... I really enjoy riding your well setup motor scooter, now if I could only stay on it...

Gabe, your wisdom and knowledge it greatly appreciated...

So is it time for a real exhaust bracket now???? Maybe a different vintage than the previous creations?
