OK, for those sick folks that actually like to look at this data, here you go...

This is a custom chart that I created to really highlight where Brandt is fast than me.

Brandt ran a 1:44.8 in this session and I ran a 1:46.4.

The white line represents Brandt's speed in mph.

The green line represents my speed in mph.

The gold line reflects the difference in lap time between the two of us. As the value increases, Brandt is getting further ahead. When it decreases, I am catching back up.

The red line is the derivative of the difference in laptime (the gold line). Thinking back to those painful days of calculus, you'll recall that the derivative is the slope of the line or function. The scale for this function is on the far right. When the value is positive, it indicates that Brandt is gaining time on me, when it's negative, I am gaining time on Brandt.

So what can you deduce from the graphs?

First, between turn one and turn four (from the start of sugar and spice to the gut check), we are reasonably even. My top speed going into the launch is 126 compared to Brandt at 118.

After Brandt crosses the launch, you can see he is substantially faster, clear through the exit of the bus stop the and sweeper onto the back straight. As reflected on the golf line, Brandt picks up about 1.1 second on me during that segment of the track.

From back straight to diamonds edge, I gain back about .2 seconds. My top speed down the back straight was 141 compared to Brandt's at 131 mph. Going through diamonds edge, you can see some interesting spikes in the red line, reflecting that Brandt is heavy on the accelerator early. What's curious, is that is seems to cause to actually be SLOWER exiting diamonds edge.

From the exit of Diamonds Edge through the 3/4 of the carousel, I gain a full second back on Brandt. Going into the carousel, my top speed is 134 mph compared to Brandt at 124 mph. Once we begin the transition into the chicane leading to the pit straight, Brandt begins to picks up speed and time again, roughly a half a second during that short part of the track.

Looking at my video, I got caught in traffic right there and had to wait to pass.

The graph ends as we cross the start/finish.

It sure seems like something is going on. I have Gabe's data and he is pulling you substantially on the top end and he is on a 600.

Oh, there is no doubt something is going on. it is very obvious. You can hear it missing. If I dont shift before 13k, I get nothing between there and 14.5k.
