I have family that work in Clifton/Morenci and one that lives there. My cousin lives in Safford and all we talk about is hitting the 191 between Morenci and Alpine on bikes someday. We used to live in Farmington when I was a kid and we always took that route going to Clifton. I used to think we would fall off the mountain on those roads. I used to ride in the overhead of the camper so it looked pretty ominous. It's nice to see pics like that. Thanks.

Did you guys go through a little town called Duncan? I used to live there and spend summers there when I didn't. I cut my teeth on dirt bikes there. Looks like you took 78 to Guthrie though.

Awesome! Farmington's speed limit and double fines were interesting. I could barely handle staying 5 above let alone the exact limit.

Are you and the family bringing the bikes in July? 2-up?

Yeah, we went up 180 and over through 78. We wanted to stay away from the border/I-10. That's pretty neat! I didn't know you were from the SW. I have fam all over the place in AZ.

Nice photos!

I had to stay behind as my friends made a road trip to Moab leaving yesterday. Hopefully I'll have a chance to see some nice views when I meet back up Wednesday. Doing the ride you all did on a bike takes much more than just a car or a truck, I'm a bit jealous.

Awesome!

Are you planning on camping or hotel'ing or a mixture? I wish I'd brought a sleeping bag, pad, and tent. We were going to camp most of the time and motel when needed, but at the last minute, we dumped that idea. It would've been a view in some spots.

That suxors! You heading that way then by Wednesday?

We didn't have time for Moab unfortunately. According to http://www.canyonchasers.com/maps/ , Utah is filled w canyons and awesome roads. I plan on checking off every route on that site. lol

I'm thinking of taking the tent and stuff in case I can maybe convince her of at least one night. Toni's pretty set on the hotels. She don't do well on the ground. That's where an air mattress would come in handy. We'll see.

I love the SW and wish we could live there again, but this is where the money is. Maybe again someday.

Great ride!

I've driven everyone one those roads at one time or another. Only got to ride some of them when we got to our camp sites. I towed a 185cc dual sport. Covered all of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Northern Arizona and up to Yellowstone. New Mexico has a tremendous variety. You never know what you'll find. The road north out of Carlsbad to Clouldcroft has the strangest terrain. Looks like black molten lava.

Next time take a northern route through Raton, Red River, Cimmaron, Taos, and Los Alamos.

Utah is great. Rode my bike to where the Green and Colorado rivers meet. Better take plenty of water though!

Your pics brought back some great memories. Thanks!

^^^^^I've read that there are 6 different climates in the world and New Mexico has all of them except one. Having been all over that state I believe it.

Awesome! I've been wanting to dual-sport it up, but Texas leaves me desiring better. lol

I'm sure I'll make it back over there asap.
