Season Premiere

I'm 2 weeks out, ahhh so excited

Bike's been sitting in the garage for nearly 4 months now. The day after I get home, I'm taking it to Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited to get the 21 point inspection (I think it's 21), oil change, GPR steering damper installed, and maybe a new pipe. Anyone else have an idea? I asked my cousin to start it and he said it turned over fine, but it's only been ridden once in those 4 months. I've been thinking tailpipe too, but it depends on funds really, cuz I want the full kit. I'm also takin it to the track about a week after I get home, so it needs to be ready :-D. Oh, and I definitely need to get the fender eliminator.

so here goes:

1) 21 pt inspection
2) oil change
3) damper

your turn.

what you're planning to do, plus have Patrick set your suspention, sag and all for your weight. Frame sliders too. I think that's all you would need for your first "crack day"

Frame Sliders are over rated. Especially for the track. :eh:

Frame sliders are the cheapest add on that will save you money in a get off. Especially wiht OEM bodywork. Do the pipe cause it sounds cool, and the dampner is a must for track riding. The PCIII is nice and will smooth out the power delivery but I raced one bike all season without one last year and still did good. If you want some race rubber, I have a set of Power Race take offs with tons of laps left in them for 100.00. Most of my take offs only have about five sprints on them, about 40 laps. At MSRH I can get around 350-400 laps on a PR5 hard rear and PR1 soft front. The 520 gearing conversion is also a great inexpensive mod that will show imediate results, -1 front, and add a couple to the rear. Sum of All Parts (Austin) has great deals on all of this stuff, and since they support LHMS, they will give you a good break off their already low prices. Ask for Joe and tell him Buck sent you. Looking forward to seeing you on the track!!

I don't recommend a 520 conversion for street riding unless you plan on changing chains frequently.
