The forest is in Montgomery... starts at 105 @ 149, meet a few people there on the weekend and they'll tell you where all the other good spots are.

Usually a few people meet at Starbucks Louetta/Kuykendal around 9:30 Sunday morning and ride up through there.

Welcome to the northside! Now you are where the best roads are(twisties). Depending on where you live-you'll want to head west to FM149, then head towards Montgomery(the intersection @ FM149 and FM105). There is a Texaco @ this intersection and alot of people meet there. Right up the road from that is an awsome place to eat breakfast or whatever, called King's Cafe. It is about 100yards north of that intersection on FM149 on the right. North of this intersection on FM149 is called the Forest. The forest has some pretty good twisties through the Sam Houston National Forest. Just stay on FM149 going north. It will take you all the way through to Richards,Tx.(two little gas stations on the right just over the railroad tracks.) Well, one gas station now cuz one just burned down. Keep going on FM149 until it dead ends, turn left-then almost immediately turn right. This picks up FM149 again. Follow this road and it turns into FM3090 north. Stay on this road(this is where you want to be). Ride it till it dead ends, turn around and ride it back the opposite way you came. You'll love it! It's well worth the seemingly long but enjoyable ride out there. This is by far the best road around our neck of the woods. Also, it would help to look at a map(YahooMaps-Montgomery,Tx.) Oh, and one other thing-Call me when you go! Sundays are the best days. Good luck and ride safe-Ride with someone(not alot of traffic, so if something happened might take awhile to get help) My name is Rocky. Cel# 281-460-2745

Yeah, alot of real nice roads up north, take your time through there the first few times. Some of those turns on 3090 tighten up on you(decreasing radius), and can catch you off guard if your not careful. Definetly don't ride solo though, plenty of people up here always willing to ride. Just post up in the events section when you get the itch.
Later,
Tom

Nope, he means decreasing radius as he stated. Decreasing radius means that the corner gets tighter as you get into it and 3090 has a few of them and ditches on the side to toss you up in the air. But a fun road. The NW is really where the good roads are at. I have some maps that I built of good local roads.
Here is a picture of a decreasing radius turn.
