John Keene CMRA racer # 410 went down really bad between turn 6 and 7. He doesnt remember how it really happened but an instructor was behind him and explained it all. In the middle of the turn he started to get a bad head-shake which turned into a full tankslapper....It was so violent that his rear tire started to hop side to side...and then all of a sudden the front end tucked catapolting him 10-12 feet in the air.

The instructor said his bike his bike caught about 4 feet of air @ around 110-120 mph then flipping end over end a few times before barrel rolling off the track. John landed on his hip tearing his leathers in two along with smacking his head pretty bad aswell. He went to the hospital and luckaly walked away with a few stitch's in his chin, bruised bones on his right side and road rash on his leg

Not only is he a great friend of mine but he has been helping ppl out including me with his knowlege of motorcycle knowhow...LETS HELP HIM OUT!!!!

Lets see if we cant start a fund to help out our fellow rider

Thankyou,
Big Bird

I was probably 50ft behind him when it happened. Looked like right after he got past the bumps coming onto the back straight he went into a violent tank slapper and he got bucked off. The bike pretty much exploded into pieces when it hit the ground. I actually remember having to look up in the air to make sure his tail section didn't come down on top of me. He seemed ok in the pits afterwards albeit a little banged up.

Sadly, that was the one session that I wasn't running my camera, so no video footage.

When it comes to financial support for a track habit/addict, you won't find it anywhere. Props to you for trying to help a friend out.

I agree with everyone else here... if you can't afford to race, crash, and fix the repairs don't do it. I crashed 3 times in 8 days, with one life flight this year and was back on track 2 weeks later with no help from anyone. And if you DO crash and don't have the cash don't go out and publicly ask other racers to help you pay for that.

Was that the primer grey bike in paddock 2 that wouldn't even roll after the crash?

Coming off turn six, probably, what 60 at the apex, 75 mph at the turn exit?

Rider that wrecked didn't ask for money. Well intentioned friend did. He's acknowledged it. Unless I misunderstood something.

I think the point has been made and agreed that if you race/track day/etc and wreck, it's on you. Horse is dead. Stop the beating.

I'm just sayin.

It's quite common.
