i got a ticket on my F3 last year coming from dickinson. he said he was chasing me all the way from baybrook mall and when he got behind me and flash the light i pulled over and that was at the almedia mall exit. i pull over turn off the bike and take off my helmet and he ask me what was the hurry. he also said that he had be chasing me since baybrook but never had his lights on till almedia mall when he was behind me. so i got a ticket for speeding. he wrote on there 110+ and DIDNT give me a ticket for no moto lic and no insurance. i went to court and got the ticket dismissed. the procescuter was like you were doing 110+ ? she said come on 110+? i just said that what the cop wrote.. not on my record WOOHOO !! i got pulled over on that F3 three times for speed and other things. i got all dismissed or i just got warnings and at that time all the stickers on that bike were no good over a yr and no insurance and no motor lic.

The majority of bikers out there dont have a clue what they r doing and think they are fast because they can roll the throttle.

I met a friend's friend last night, picking up his first bike today. He's getting a new yamaha but my friend is going with him so he doesn't buy a 1k and sticks to a 600... I tried to teach some sense but both guys didn't listen. He'll be going down soon. I give him a month tops.

You can however, be arrested for reckless driving. What constitutes reckless? That's up to the arresting officer, but there is no state law that states "after XX number of miles over, it's reckless driving".

You could technically, be going the speed limit, swerve in your own lane and get arrested for reckless driving. I doubt that the DA would pursue charges, but it could happen.
I got arrested for speeding...90mph over the speed limit for speeding(reckless driving). Who said you couldn't get arrested for speeding?

On top of that, I got evading charges because they couldn't catch me. Not my fault if the police vehicle is slow.

The law. Speeding is not an arrestable offense. Check the charges on your paperwork and it'll say "reckless driving", not speeding.

True. The arrestable offense is reckless driving. They may ticket you for speeding as well, but you are going to jail for the reckless part. You can also be doing 50 around a 20mph corner, hanging off the bike and if the officer thinks it's reckless...guess what?

better start producing supercharged/turbo police cars that produce 500+rwhp, otherwise this isn't going to change much.

Also he wasn't lucky, police cars are slow as sh*t. Any rider who has any kind of skill at all can outrun a cop on a bike.

helicopter is a different story.

I've been stopped at 100+ a few times myself. Tickets, not jail. It's too much trouble for them to take you to jail.

However, this one time I got pulled over with my girl on the back, he did ask her if she could ride the bike home (she's 5'0), she said NO of course, but I do believe that if she had said 'yes', he might've taken me to jail. (This was 85 in a 42 - which the cop was full of shyt and I got an attorney and beat the ticket)

... and 1 more thing:

For cops who pull over bikers and then stand there and accuse that we are/were trying to run - um NO. If a biker speeds up for a brief instant to maneuver around traffic, etc, while attempting to pull over to a safe area - the biker is NOT trying to run, they are trying to not get RUN OVER.

on open freeways ill go `alil` faster then posted speedlimits :p

if a cop ever flashed his lights not sure what i'd do.... my old self would just laugh and leave em...but i havent had to deal with that in a long time

but this thread is pointless, cops have better things to worry bout then bikes
