starting trouble for all of us

hey guys

just a word to the dumb who ever you are....

Thursday night some lucky fool out ran an HPD Officer. The rider was on a GSXR
black and burnt orange wearing a white helmet and a black jacket . i dont know and dont want to know
who you are or might be but if you are on this forum just know that the City is going to start to hunt all sport bikes down
if you guys keep it up. and that means pp1 asi hak all the hang outs they will start hitting remember if they really want to be about it they will win.

just my 2 cents.

This one incident is causing the entire HPD to mobilize and "hunt all sports bikes down"? Do you have any idea how often sports bikes fail to stop for the police?

Quick question for you Vinnie, I know you are an officer. But look, why are cops taking peeps to jail for 100mph? Dont you think if the city wrote tickets instead of jail that people wouldnt run? Its kinda like, "im going to jail if I pull over so lemme try to get away."

And I know the charges are different but no one wants to go to jail for anything.

Yeah! That sounds kind of extreme for just one incident!

As evidenced by the recent police activities at pp1 I am postitve that this wednesday night stuff is on the radar for real. Anytime the city rolls out 3 units and the helicopter to pp1, something is going on. With that said, holla, Im off to the back roads.

Yep it is all the cops fault! It has absolutly nothing to do with some idiots acting like fools on public roads! Meh! I have never understood that. Everytime I have ever been pulled over or ticketed I was breaking the law.

I don't remember the exact law, something about 30+ or over 95 can be jail time/reckless driving.

So can a wheelie.

It CAN, a lot depends on attitude.

I've been stopped 3 times in the last couple of years at over 100 and NOT gotten a ticket, and only 1 written warning.
I did have to listen to the lecture.......small price to pay IMHO.

I believe it's at the officers discretion, whatever he deems to be reckless driving, but in reality the only traffic violation I can think of that is NOT an arrestable offence is speeding.

+1

BUT- going to jail for speeding is a bit extreme.

In California it was 21mph over the speed limit for jail time.

I never check or asked on the laws here.

In Texas, the only things you cannot be arrested for are speeding or open container.

You can however, be arrested for reckless driving. What constitutes reckless? That's up to the arresting officer, but there is no state law that states "after XX number of miles over, it's reckless driving".

You could technically, be going the speed limit, swerve in your own lane and get arrested for reckless driving. I doubt that the DA would pursue charges, but it could happen.
