HID lights

Is the conversion really worth it? Seems prices are all over the map and the quality of certain kits are too.

the problem with a lot of HID kits is that they are stuck in housings that are poorly designed for the way the HID bulb emits light, or that the wavelength of the light is poorly matched to what helps you see at night. The benefit of an HID is that the obnoxiously bright glare does make you extremely visible.

My experience is with cars though, not bikes, so it might just make drivers fixate on you and want to run into you more :dunno:

I had a set in my 05 R1. Freakin loved them. I ordered from the same people, great customer service. Go slim ballasts if you do it, much easier to hide.

I did low beam only and left high beam as the stock blub... becasue HIDs take couple secs to turn on/warm up... so if you want to flash your high beams at someone, its hard to do it with HIDs... plus incase the HID goes out you can always ride with high beam...

Good point. Did you upgrade your bulb on the high beam?
