Carbon Fiber Wheels

Not that this is gonna make or brake my decision but I want some feedback on this. I am looking into getting CF wheels for my bike. (07' GSXR) I really like the way they look and I think it will look awesome on my bike. Before I put aprox $3500 into this does anyone know someone with em? What are some pros/cons? Obviously weight of the bike goes down significantly... What else??? Thanks in advance for all your replys!

If you're putting these on a street bike, they'd be a colossal waste of money... unless you're a wealthy poseur. Even when reduced unsprung weight is desirable (such as racing), magnesium wheels are still used more than any type - at half the cost of CF. Sure, you'd lose about 15 pounds and steering effort would be marginally reduced, but the cost isn't worth any small gains here.

you're better off with these, at 1/2 the cost, and twice as durable.

We have some good news for you guys. Texas Track Days will be the official distributor for Durrani Wheels which are magnesium and only cost $1600… compare that to $2800 Marchesini wheels. It also comes as a complete assembly with all bearings, internal spacers, hubs, and unique cush drive, all you need to do is swap your existing tires, external axle spacers, and rotors to the new wheels, purchase a rear sprocket that fits the Durrani cush drive (sold separately)… and you're ready to roll.

Some of the Benefits:
Front Weight: 7.4 lbs.
Rear Weight: 10.6 lbs.
Retail Price: $1,598 per complete set
• Completely Magnesium hubs!
• Complete Cush-Drive and Integrated Sprocket Carrier!
• Includes all bearings, internal spacers, and sprocket bolts.
• Fully assembled and ready-to-mount!
• Accepts OEM fitment rotors, rotor bolts, and external spacers.
• Durrani 510 Series wheels have a Limited One Year warranty
• Requires rear sprocket that fits the 2001-2006 Suzuki GSXR-1000.
Advantages gained by lightweight wheels:
• Relative 10-15 horsepower gain
• 8-10 lbs weight savings
• Save 1.0-2.0 seconds per lap
• Faster acceleration
• Shorter stopping distance
• Less rider fatigue during track sessions
• Easier corner turn-in
• Faster transitions on the track
• Increased margin of safety, street and track
Note: We recommend a steering damper be installed due to higher steering sensitivity.

We have 5 sets that are ready to ship so first come first serve … be one of the first ones to use this great product. You can find more information about this product at WWW.DURRANIRACING.COM .

**** THESE ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 600cc BIKES … SORRY LITER BIKE GUYS YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT 6 MORE MONTHS****

LIST OF APPLICATIONS CAN BE FOUND ON THE DURRANI WEBSITE.

CONTACT US AT 469-222-6866 OR EMAIL US AT INFO@TEXASTRACKDAYS.COM

As an added bomus, buy any set of Durrani Wheels, and receive 1 free track day from Texas Track Days, good anytime.

Yes I do see this and I guess its a waste... no I'm not rich by any means but its something Ive been saving for. I kinda think my bike is worth it, my paint alone was $3500, so...... Im kinda lost on the money issue.

*No, Im not going to use my bike as show - I ride it!!! But I do like getting the complements and I enjoy the time/work I have put into it.
... I dont want chrome for sure, that wouldnt match at all.

I love the way CCW or Fikse wheels look on my car, but I just can't justify spending $4k+ on them.

If you're on baller status like that go for it, but you might get flames from the haters

He's in England where the roads are . He's had zero issues with them.

Here's a pic of his bike. It's obscene. Of course it's a 1kRR.

You are a girl, right? Well, just wear a thong or assless chaps when you ride. That would get you more attention and you would save about 3400 USD.
