sprocket help

ok im about to get some new sprock's for my 08 gsxr-600, can anyone give me some advice and help on what sizes i should go with. i read an article in super street bike talking about turning your 600 into 1000 killer. they said they went up to 45 tooth rear and down one in the front, but this is on the new zx6r. i was wondering would i go up the same size on rear on my gix?

im trying to get the low in the rev range pull, it says by adjusting the sprokets liek that you sacrafice a little top end for lower end pull.with these two mods, says 600 pulls harder then a 750.

but you lose top end, and will have to shift more frequently then the 750/1000 does.

That's alot more shifting in/out of corners etc for a short amount of acceleration. Still, as for feel goes a sprocket set will make the bike feel like it gained alot more power.

But to sacrifice the top end and top out around 115-130? I dunno if its worth that.

i went up 5 in the rear and down 1 in the front on my 08

after 06 the 600 came stock with a 43 tooth before 07 it was a 45 tooth.

i lost topend but i gain alot of low torque and mid.

you might be able to jump on a stock 750 with just sprokets but your not going beat them because after 3rd gear they will be winning due to more topend.

and no way are you beating a 1000 with just sprockets.

I dont think anyone needs the topend these bike have for riding streets.
Maybe you should try a plus 2 in the rear or 4 at the most.

HA... yeah go ahead and put a pizza sprocket on the back and drop one in front to make it a liter bike killer... and then, when you top out, i'll pass you and still be in first gear

Mine was -1+2. It pulled great all the way to full. I ran about 9k RPM on the freeway. I would do it again. I lost around 20MPH from the top end, but thats ok.
