I was looking to buy an R1 a while back and the guy had it stretched but the price was cheap.. i told him i'd buy it if he put the stock swingarm back on... he SWARES that the 6" extension didn't change the handling at all.... it was kinda funny listening to him try to convince me the bike still handled good like i was some noob or somethin...

It makes it slower. Not just in the twisties, but in a straight line. You may launch better, but for regular street riding, it will accelerate slower. More weight. Not just the extensions, but a much longer chain. The chain is unsprung weight so it really affects your moment of inertia.

not to mention more leverage on the shock, which is sprung for a 150-160 lbs rider in the first place.

so not only will it turn like a school bus, but it will be soft as on the rear as well.
