Velocity stacks do add a nice throaty sound to your bike, but actual performance varies. it is usally something done after you have had engine mods. they do not usually have a major impact on air flow, quite to the contrary belief. But then again you might as well throw some traack plastics on it and make it a race bike. Most racers dont even have v-stacks. If you think about it, the manufacturers have done their research and spent millions on the factory stacks. these machines are ready to race off the show room floor with no mods neccessary.

The actual gain, if any with velocity stacks is less than 10% more air flowing thru. Not enough to really feel it. now if you have a built motor and need an extra tenth of a horsepower, than i would say go for it.

If I were you I would do what I did.... all air mods.. exhaust, smog block off plates, bmc air filter... I wouldnt waste my money just on stacks but if you did all that then it would be worth it...

It is. However, apparently contradicting bad advice is considering "hating." Apparently I'm supposed to NOT help but let people who don't have a fscking clue give bad advice, and let people waste their money.

If you actually want to know about the "shitty" microsoft pain drawing, do a google search on boundary layer theory, and laminar versus turbulent flow (Reynolds number)..........The painting is decently representative but pretty shitty. If your trying to convince someone of something, maybe dont have your 4 year old to draw a picture

I would say po-po isn't hating. I would say he is asking questions to see if someone actually knows what a specific mod does, instead of riding the band wagon and saying oh yeah, badass, buy one.
Nothing wrong with trying to educate someone, some may have different methods than others, carry on.
