What exactly made them a "great mod" on your bike?

velocitystacks

Simple yet effective grasp of Bernoulli's Laws on boundry layers and how that effects air flow.

Remember folks, the two inner cylinders will run hotter. The Graves stacks will alter the velocity of the air going into #'s 2 & 3 relative to #'s 1 & 4. Fast moving air will act as a cooling medium. Think of a brass musical intrument.

Also go look at the configuration of the intake opening to the airbox - above the radiator. Where is that air blowing at inside the airbox? Specifically. Mmmm-hummm!

Science... isn't it great?

Cheers

OK fine. You'll spend $100+ to move the powerband around at WOT. Considering what the owner of this bike has previously said his main purpose for the bike is, the gains will never be realized.

Nothing. Most of the stacks being sold don't actually add additional power. They just move peak power (on a per cylinder basis because you can theoretically have a different length stack for each cylinder) to a different rpm. However, this effect is not well realized at the lower throttle openings associated with just cruising around.

If the OP has a PCIII theoretically he could tune for a better midrange... Also depending on what brand/size stacks.

When he introduced himself to me at MSRH the first question I had for him was..."so are you really a cop?"

velocity stacks????? I failed physics but I think velocity needs both a speed and direction and is somewhat related to acceleration;rate of change in velocity since an object in motion must change speed and direction at some point-thats another lesson.
