Why are choppers so expensive?

Ok, I am a little lost as to why choppers or custom bikes are so expensive. I was looking at some 'lower' priced choppers for the of it.

Ok so this thing is $25k.
It has off-the-shelf bar, ends, grips, guage, tank.
Claims to have a 110ci motor. I don't know that thing does not look like 1800cc to me. 6-speed transmissions, a mis-matching paintjob. And that's really about it.

So why does it cost more than...
2 X Identical looking Honda fury's
4 X Honda XR650.

Honda fury for reference

I've never understood the pricing of choppers either. Only if I had money flowing out of my ears and if I did I would probably like to buy all the tooling and do one on my own.

Yeah, but the custom has FCKING SKULLS MAN!!!!!!!

And for every Iron Cross you add to the paintjob that's easily another 2k onto the asking price. How else is everyone going to know how awesome you are?

thats why the economy is busted. same deal as ford paying people $20/hr for a $10/hr job

factory produced chopper is just as good, if not better than one 'slapped' together by some guy. i mean look at the bmw custom bikes they are coming out with. you can build a custom fighter or cafe racer with factory parts, and its probably assembled in a factory too.

are choppers more of an american thing? don't see many choppers from other countries.

custom wheels 2k
primary drive 1500-3k depending on model
motor if its an ss 3-10k depending on what you get, usually 5k though
frame 1k-2k
foot and hand controls 500-1500
tank is 300-800
fenders 3-400 bucks
paint job shitty500 badass 2k

thats the basic . chopper parts are expensive even at dealer cost
