Teknic chicane boots

Just curious if any of you guys have anything good or bad to say about these boots? I found a vendor on another forum selling the 09 versions cheap. Thought I'd ask for opinions before I pull the trigger.

They will be for the occasional track day and the occasional run to and around town. Thanks in advance

A vendor on the WERA forum. I can shoot you a pm with the link if you want it

Not what I wanted to hear for sure, but thanks for the firsthand testimonial. Anything inparticular? Like the finish of the boot or how long it lasted or just an all around boot?

And on that note.. I'm looking for a boot that can do what I listed. Be good for a track boot, be ridden around town in case I go on a spirited ride, and still be able to get off the bike and walk around a couple of stores without it being too uncomfortable. I understand I will be wearing out the sole, so ideally it would be replaceable but deffinitely not required or anything. Let me know what you more experienced guys would recommend. Also fairly affordable..I just spent all kinds of money on gloves and leathers and would prefer not to pay $300 for boots. But if that is the only way to get what I want then I will save up and probably just rent boots this next time so I have more time to save for a purchase.

The vendor off of the WERA forum quoted me $115 shipped to me. Which is already about $30 cheaper than most places and usually you would still have to pay shipping. Also these are this years model from what he told me. If ya want the info I could send it to ya

I've heard stories that they fall apart, hasnt happened to me.

Honestly my gripe with them is the comfort issue, there is absolutely no arch support, there is excess material and seams on the inside that will annoy the out of you as they rub ur foot and making u think theres a rock in there.

and before I say this, i KNOW they are riding boots, not walking shoes...but I've heard many people say they could wear sidis all day long and not have any discomfort...not the case with teknic.

you should be fine with the chicane for occasional track days. I have my new boots coming in the mail already I just dont want to wear out the sole on them haha. I would try them out you can always sell them for what you have in them... sidis are pricey but have heard great things

Not the Sidi vertigo's that I almost dropped $300 on

I need to just go look and see what all boots are out there that have the replaceable sole. That will be a pretty large factor if I'm going to spend alot of coin(to me $200+) on em.

you get what you pay for

ask any of the serious track guys about the cheap suits, boots, gloves, or track bodywork they have gone through...buy the good stuff one time, or keep replacing the cheap stuff.

I understand what you mean, but I don't think I have a need for that high quality of a boot. If I gotta sacrifice some comfort to save $200 then that will probably be what I have to do
