DPS on 3090

Here's my run in with Trooper K. Smith on 3090 yesterday. BTW he seemed like a nice guy, I usually do not meet the nice ones.

Ask Pam about the nice one out there, if I remember correctly he's a local deputy, gave her some LONG plastic ties when Yamahwhore went down to get him going and then he rode the bike back to Anderson.

But I think he DID give him a going away present.....

He said 70ish, I think a little faster.
yea just a warning.

The funny thing is when he saw my cameras, he told me about the other Trooper that was put on utube and he thought "oh no not me too". At 2 mins into the vid you can see he look right at the camera.

I guess it pays to have a camera visible on your bike. It would be good evidence in court if the said officer was out of line. Video don't lie.

Thats what I keep thinking. It also helps in any accidents. You can see exactly what happened.

I would have kept going and looked at him like he was crazy as I rode by... if he came after me then I'd stop. I saw the lights on; was he outside already?

We passed him when leaving Yankees. Riders going other way gave us heads up and we slowed to speed limit. He was in a great spot(for him) but he had to know we were tipped off cruising by so slowly. Glad you just got a warning.

I got pulled over by the same trooper in the same spot on Sunday.

I was by myself leaving yankees. Same deal, he pulled out in the road with his lights on when I was approaching him. I slowed and he signaled me over to the side of the road. Said he clocked me going 70 in a 60... he's probably right. Anyway, got a warning for speeding but got a ticket for my insurance... it expired the DAY BEFORE. He told me all I need to do it fax in the current copy and it will be dismissed. I also had my inspection sticker under my rear seat since I got the eliminator kit and he let that slide. All in all he was pretty cool about it all.

So did he ask you to turn the video camera off? I noticed he looked down to see if it had been running.

When he looked down, he was looking at my strobe & LED lights.
We talked about my camera system later.

I think we passed you by as well.. we were a small group of about 5 riders. Or at least it was someone pulled over already.

Glad it was just a warning though.
