court date for tickets got in Nov..help!!

so i get the letter from caldwell county court today, 21st feb, giving me a hearing date of 23rd feb, in Lockhart!!!!!!!
now my first line of defense was going to be getting the court date postponed (and now i REALLY need it postponed, cos i cant take off on thu) but the letter says at the bottom "motion for continuance MUST be filed 3 days prior to scheduled hearing. No exceptions made"

does that mean that i m fcked and cant get the court date postponed now? how the fck can they do it. letter is dated 7 feb. does USPS take 13 days to deliver the letter 150 miles away????
do i have a way out?

and yes, fyi, i hv pleaded not guilty and was gonna defend myself without a lawyer. advise , suggestions welcomed.

lawyer is the only way to go.

I will never go to court again for traffic violations without a lawyer, the guy has kept 6 tickets off my record. straight up dismissed. I even had 4 in one weekend and got out of it completely unscathed. yeah, I'm a believer now.

i use sprecher myself, but he doesn't usually go out of HPD juris.

isn't lockhart by austin?

"motion for continuance MUST be filed 3 days prior to scheduled hearing. No exceptions made"

means, you have to tell them at least 3 days in advance that you can't make it, and they'll set another date.....most likely a thurs. again, just later that mos. or next.
