"I was afraid for my life, I wanted him to stop doing what he was doing."

Then

"I'd like to speak with my lawyer."

Those are the only 2 things I was told to ever say to the police in the unfortunate event you're involved in a shooting.

Seriously though - thats about it. Say as little as possible to the po-po....preferably NOTHING. Remember - you did NOTHING wrong, but unfortunately anything you say WILL be used against you.

weenie -
been there done that
cop told me that here in texas, if he is on your property and you shoot him - make sure that he is dead and then drag him inside. if he is still outside you might still go to jail, if he is in the house and dead ..... it's your word against his.
also, if left alive - he can and most likely sue you and get a hefty sum.
Have seen that a couple of times also
luckily he was in the truck and in the garage,

NEVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MOVE THE BODY!!!!!

The first thing they'll do in court is ask you why you shot him if you didn't think you were within your legal right.

It is apparent some people need to spend some face time with the lawyer who they would have representing them if they ever chose to brandish a fire arm or use deadly force.

Second, remember that brandishing your firearm with out firing it may give someone else the opportunity to fire back at you and it may not be from the direction you have assumed.

Good Luck out there!

No, I haven't been but I just think they are a bunch of whimps(giving up their guns) and are very liberal and socialistic. I could really give a rats about em. I think we should send all of our liberal people over there. I mean why do they want the us to be like them why not just go there and let the americans stay here.

i would never "brandish" a firearm for any reason....if you feel the need to pull it, it should be with the intent to use it.

I'm of the opinion that if you pull it just to pull it, then you're missing the entire point of a "life threatening situation"
