How did you feel your 1st TD??

I had a blast at my first trackday this past saturday, and can't wait to get back out again. Ive been riding street since 2004, and I thought I'd be better prepared for the track, at least mentally.

I was kinda mad at myself for being so timid out there yesterday. It seemed that every time I'd go into a turn after one of the straights, I would chicken out and break waaaaaay earlier than I should.

Anyone else feel as "cautious" their first day out?

Of course. It's self-preservation taking affect.

Don't think too much about it, it's natural and with seat time it'll pass. You'll soon begin to focus on so many other things the next few times on the track that you'll forget all about the "caution" you felt yesterday

On the 1st I felt invigorated.

After my 3rd or 4th I went into uber-cautious mode

i felt good until i crashed. then my confidence was effectively shattered.

i might feel better if i knew exactly why i crashed but i cant say that i know the specific reason. just lowsided.

but i still had a blast and plan on returning when i have time.

Looking good... what camera mount/set up did you use? Do you have a pic?
What video editing software?
I'm looking to do a front and back mount on my RC...

How did I feel on my first track day?
OUCH!!!! I didn't know SV's had ejection seats. Got tossed on t9 at MSRH. Ribs=fcuked.
I realized there were a lot of areas I need to work on, but at the same time, I was more confident than I thought I would be.

My first day was at Harris Hill Rd. For those that know that track, it's very tricky with elevation changes, decreasing radius turns, etc etc....

I took it easy, and tried to focus on being smooth. And so, the addiction started.....

I was slower than my first track day. I remember thinking that the round robin was a decent pace.

It took about 2 sessions to get over the "omgwtfbbq am I doing to my body" factor, and then I started to have a lot of fun. 2 seasons later...........its STILL just as much fun!

My first day was at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on the fz1 and all I could think about was "this hobby just got a lot more expensive"

It's all about track seat time and good instructions. The more seat time you get, the more comfortable you get, the more comfortable you get the faster you get.

I saw you out there (I was on an orange 600rr) and you looked way more comfortable towards the end of the day, that's good. Everybody starts off slow, you have to to learn the basics. The speed catches up and soon your flying.
