chased a coyote

i have a new job doing security and tonight i was doing my rounds when i saw this animal. i went to chase it off. since it was dark and i didnt have any lights i couldnt tell what it was. so i went after it till it disappeared. i thought it was some small animal. well after i lost it i saw a shadow to my left and i took off after it again. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: well this time it ran near some lights and i only saw an outline of what appeared to be a large dog, so at that point i figured itd be a good idea to turn around and go back. i told the other security officer that i saw a dog running around. he laughed and asked if i was sure it was a dog, and then proceeded to inform me that at night coyotes tend to come around and he has seen them a couple of times. from now on i think ill be a little more careful.

luckily he didnt, if he did and the info was posted, half the people on here would have thought it was sad that i had my handed to me by a coyote and the other half would have said i deserved it for chasing him.

I wouldn't worry about those coyotes. Growing up in the country all my life (Hallettsville/Ezzell), I can assure you they are more scared of you then you are of them. Don't get me wrong, it can still scare the out of you sometimes, but they typically are harmless. If I heard coyotes I would keep going where I was going, if I heard pigs, I would turn around and head back the other way
