i-10 hov question

I'm sure it on here but searcging on my bb sucks.

Are bikes free on the hov/toll lanes on I 10 all day?

I thought I had read that bikes were supposed to be free all the time?

i wasnt free,the lady said its the samething as operating a motor vehicle. i took the hardy toll road north to the woodlands.

i believe that bike are ok when the hov lanes are open. most don't have signs. i would just take it.
i use them all the time when possible

I can't seem to find it online but I had received something in the mail stating that between those times 2+ and motorcycles can use those lanes anyother time its considered a toll road only.

Quick toll guide:




Free during HOV hours: Monday through Friday, 5 am 11 am and 2 pm 8 pm, eastbound and westbound.



Be sure to pass through the tolling plaza in the HOV lane on the left.


No registration is currently required.


Subject to tolls at all other times, and on all other Harris County toll roads.


EZ TAG or TxTag required to ride the managed lanes during non-HOV hours


Tolls during non-HOV hours, including weekends: $0.30 - $0.40 per tolling plaza.

Basically, we're getting screwed since before this "expansion", we could ride the HOV for free at anytime.

Splitting lanes is at the House for them to review and vote on them. There is a thread here that is dedicated to just that. Have you wrote/called your lawmaker yet? We're very hopeful it gets passed this year!
