boy ohh boy it was cold!!!!

well, as most of you already know it was cold as all heck up at oak hill this weekend. i road on friday late in the afternoon after talking with a few riders about the track and how it was . to my surprise they actually said that it was pretty good, so i did 2 practice sessions one of which i hooked up with danny kelsi on and we were rollin along pretty good. bike felt great and i was pretty excited.

so sunday rolls around and things got off to a pretty ruff start. my first race B superstock i got a great start from the 3rd row ended up 4th into turn 2 and stayed there despite having my face shield completly fog over for the first 3 laps:BangHead: i couldnt see a thing. not a good feeling with the likes of jeff grant, shea fouchek and the rest of them guys running up my . ended up pulling off a 6th. race 2, 3, and 4 were a different story. 2nd C superstock started pretty bad, i got a good start but trying to go around craig montgomery on the outside he ran wide and i almost highsided in the first turn. ended up 9th in to turn 2 but was able to put my head down and chasing down 5 guys to end up 4th. the formula 1 race was nuts. all those 1000, a couple guys ended up banging each other at the start i got around them, and ended up hooking up with bryan west for the rest of the race to finish right behind him in 7th. the last race of the day i put a new rear tire on and just didnt have faith in it with only one scrub lap, so i took it kind of easy and pulled a 5th off.

needless to say i was pretty happy with my first expert race weekend. now lets get ready for cresson and see what happens. thanks to everyone that helps me out and all you guys that come by and give me those attaboys. they mean a lot. most of all thanks to MOTORCYCLES UNLIMITED for EVERYTHING. couldnt do it without ya.

Sounds like a good start on a bad weather weekend. Can't wait to see you out there when the weather warms up.

Jeff, you mountain bike? I used to race a Gary Fisher back in the late 90s... broke my wrist pretty bad in 99 and haven't done much since. I've been thinking about bringing the GF out of retirement.

Yeah. We get together when we can. Since the time change and it getting darker sooner, I can no longer ride the trails during the week like we used to. Wade and I used to do some serious riding, but now I can only really hit the real trails on the weekends. Wade has been riding A LOT. Steve rides when he can.

Now, me and Brandon get together a few times during the week in the evenings and do some laps around Memorial Park between downtown and Shepard. I like the trails better, but can only really hit those on the weekends.

:eh:

Bust out the Fisher dude. The next time we hit the trails (maybe this weekend) I'll shoot you a PM beforehand. Come along if you're interested.

What time during the week do you get to ride out there? I got a project that lasts until March 7th and then I'll be hitting the trails at around 3:45 PM during the week.

Sounds like a plan I need to get back on the bike and lose this weight.

Since is getting dark sooner i like to go no later than 2pm, i ride for about 2 hours so that gives you time to get back with sunlight still out.
Let me know.

Sounds good, but even after the time change the soonest I will be able to ride during the week is about 5 to 5:30pm and ride until dark. During the weekends, we typically get together around 9:30am to 10am and ride for a couple hours.

Jeff, I'd be interested in going once my shoulder heals up a little better. Macman and I talked about going awhile back but never made it out.

BTW... Great job Brandon. I think Deb and I are going to make it out to the Cresson to watch the sprints. Look forward to seeing everyone!
