I wanted to smack this guy this morning....

So I see this guy on a BMW bike this morning! He was geared up I tell ya. Helmet, gloves, boots and what looked like a full Cortex riding suit! So far he sounds like a responsible rider. Props for that. Here is the kicker. He had a kid on the back with NO GEAR!!! No helmet, shorts, tshirt and flip flops! Geez why would you gear up but leave your child totally unprotected? And it wasn't like they were going school zone speeds, they were doing at least 50mph! I just don't get it! I hope this is not an everyday occurance. That poor girl would prolly be in a world of hurt if they ever went down.

Good idea if you've got them. I don't have saddlebags, but for long distance hauls, I've been known to tie my kids to either side of the bike. In the winter, when it's cold, I make them sit on the cylinder heads. If I am strapped for space, I'll tie them to the inside of the wheels.

My youngest asked me why wouldn't take the car instead of the bike one day, and I recoiled in horror at her suggestion! I guess she didn't know how unsafe cars could be, but she's educated on the subject now, it.
