Awesome!! congrats!! We need more chickies that ride! I remember when I started. I was completely FREAKED by freeway traffic. Just find an empty parking lot; like a Mall after-hours. Practice, Practice until u are more confident with your ability to control your bike. Thats what i did and then the traffic didn't frighten me nearly as much. Good luck amd just take it slow. It's not much fun to ride if ur so freaked that ur "wired for sound" before ur done.

The wind thing will pass with time you will become more comfordable with it. I use to think that bw8 at 290 was the devil you would have a tail wind start under the mix master get a sharp south cross wind and then bam it would a sharp north cross wind now I don't even notice it.

Believe it or not, the wind gets fun after a while. You'll start leaning into it and enjoying it.

Everything gets easier the more you ride- I promise! You've already done the hard part- now just get out there and move those wheels!

The wind was really bothering me. Of course it was my first ride at 60+. But feeling like you are being pushed into the next lane is not fun. Any recommendations on how to get over that feeling?

Everything was going fine until we got on 59. I was a little freaked out and the wind felt worse. But we made it safely home and I had a blast.

Can't wait to get on the bike again. If I got some overpants I could take it to work!

Just a side note, remember these bikes aerodynamic. If the wind is bothering, try lowering your chest down on the tank thus bringing your head down a bit to cut down on the drag. That should cut down the wind issue a bit. It will take time to adjust and its one more thing we have to prepare for besides the lovely drivers we have in this town, lol.

Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.
