eye glasses at the track?

Anyone here wear corrective glasses at the track? I know a lot of people that wear them out contacts in at the track but my contacts dry out fast when I ride and I can't see at all. What I was thinking about doing is getting a big set of frames for the track cause my everyday frames are narrow and and the black borders are thick so it sometimes harder to see when I tuck and look up. I was thinking of getting old people frames, kind of like aviator style frames so I can have a greater area of vision.

I've tried but never liked them. I've got the new accuviews(sp) and just bring eye drops.

I wear contacts and dont really have a problem unless I forget to blink, this usually happens following instructors or when i'm really in the zone,, i've had them fly out more than once and get stuck to my visor,, after this i just hot pit and pop it back in,,, trying to continue with only one in is too hard lol

Just get lasik- then you won't need contacts or glasses. Imagine all the money you'll save. Meaner did it about five years ago, and she's sees as well as I do now.

I've been talking about doing that for like the past 5 years lol still not sure why I haven't done it. I kind of like my glasses though. I have different set depending on where I'm going and what I wear, and I feel weird without them.

i dont wear my glasses ever on the track, i'd rather not have any corrective lenses in my eyes than wear glasses, FUKKS with my peripheral vision and my ability to look forward when i'm leaned over. plus i'd be worrried it would fog up if the weather wasn't up to par. bad enough the helmet shield does.

i always bring an extra set of contacts just in case.

just my 2 pennies though.

Close fitting wrap around sunglasses (like safety glasses) will work with contacts to keep the drying issue down.
On the other hand I have been wearing glasses on track with no problems also.

The only problem I have is all my glasses are designer frames and are really thick black plastic with big arms that kill my periphial vision

For what its worth
Wallmart sells sunglasses called cover ups, they fit over most normal to small lensed glasses.

, as far as contacts are concerned ive never had any of the problems the rest of you speak of........drying out in helmet, flying out, etc.

You folks have soft or hard contacts?? Maybe this is a difference? Mine are hard.

Interesting thread
