it has already been stated, appeals are a joke. I parked in the teacher's lot outside engineering all year long and got caught once. Appealed and dismissed. I parked overnight at the dorms, appealed and dismissed. I parked next to a building in the loading zone (right by the technology doors), ticketed, appealed, and dismissed.

I did get a ticket on the bike, but I forgot what it was for, and it wasn't dismissed.

Well, I appealed it and now I wait for something in the mail telling me when I can take my appeal before some appeal committee...

What a joke...I guess that rent-a-cop earned his $5.75 that hour.

No- these guys are HPD. They are not rent a cops. They are assigned to UH-Downtown campus.

But it's still a joke, and he should be knocked down to rent a cop status after this.

if for some reason the appeal doesn't go through you can still take it to the dean of students office. I know they will take care of it as long as you have taken all of the correct steps to get it dismissed (student traffic appeals court or something like that). The reason the appeals are a joke is because it is a group of students on the board and as long as you have some kind of valid reason they can dismiss just about anything.

I got one of those stickers put on my window for parking in a handicap spot that had a barely visible blue box on the ground and no sign. I took it off and pasted it to the door of the leasing office that hired the idiot rent-a-cop, all while the manager watched me.

She was .

More a hassle than anything else.

Is the Permit designed as a one-time application, whereby it'll show "void" all over it should it be removed and relocated? The painter had to remove and re-apply it after the job was done, so the cop probably assumed it was a stolen tag. Although it would be nice if he were to run a check on the VIN, for all practical purposes, I wouldn't expect him to. He just notes that the Permit has been "altered". Once you explain your story, there's no reason why they shouldn't dismiss it. They may ask that you have the existing one replaced, though, with a new one.

my parking permit is free at ACC. only because it is a motorcycle. my vehicle permit is a yearly fee.

that's stupid. i don't get how one can alter the permit. i also go to UHD and it's pretty much a circle sticker with a date label on it. unless they think that the date label is altering the permit which they put on. where did you park btw? i want to avoid this stupid ticket too.

Nope- permit is on my instrument panel and was never removed or altered at all.

I park right near the elevators in the main building. I hadn't thought about checking the date sticker, but surely those can come off easily- esp since I ride nearly every day.
