it's in san fransico. i would think the price of shipping/gas to get there it would be better to spend a bit more and buy local?

wow...BARF... that takes it back.

How did you know about them?

As for transportation, 2100 miles one way (if you wanna do it yourself.) Otherwise, shipping companies are available and do bulk transportation. However, since this is a highdollar purchase the transportation insurance will be high and you will likely want to fly over there and complete the transaction in person.

Way expensive for a first track bike. Yes it has a lot of extras, but for a bike you're planning on throwing down the track......who cares.

trackbike: a bike to go around the track thats inexpensive to repair when crashed. Uses mostly OE parts except in the instances where aftermarket parts are cheaper/easier to repair/replace (i.e. clipons).

racebike: a bike to go around the track as fast as is humanly possible with parts designed to reduce weight, increasing cornering and straightline speed. NOT cheap to repair.

sounds like you've been racing a track bike. Its done a lot.

replacing stock wheels, and electronics is a shitload less expensive than replacing Carrozerrias and a Yosh EMS. Cheap..........is relative.

Sounds like you know nothing about club level racing. Most of us do it for the fun of it. Most any bike can be raced or taken to track days if its safe.

Guess Alonzo didn't get that memo. He's racing and dominating his classes on a GSXR600 with nothing more than suspension, bodywork, and brakelines. Oh, and an M4 slipon that looks like it's seconds away from falling off.

Just because you take your street bike to a track day doesn't make it a track bike.

Just because you put your trackbike in a race doesn't make it a racebike.

And here i was thinking that the distinction between a track bike (you know.......like Gonzo's with just suspension and exhaust) and a race bike (you know.....like the one in the OP with $10k of aftermarket ) was obvious.
