2008 Hayabusa VS 2008 CB1000RR

Im having a really hard time deciding which bike to get. I drive about 100 miles a day to work. I already have a commuter bike but if I get the new CBR or the busa Im gonna want to ride it everyday. I put 22,000 miles on 2 bike last year. I just want to get the bike thats going to last the longest. Does anybody have any info that would help my decision. I just want a 2008 model Both the Busa and CBR are completely redesigned. I prefer a bike i can take to the track but realisticly I drive mostly straights because most of my riding these days are to work.

Totally different categories of bikes, even.

You'll have to give more info regarding your preferences.

Between those two, for what your going to be using it for, I'd go with the hayabusa.

This is'nt taking anything else into consideration of course, just what you've stated.

You've stated how often you'll be riding it to work. If that were the primary factor, then you know the answer.

I guess it boils down to how often you intend to go to the track.

busa will be more comfortable just tooling around.

I haven't been on a Busa but I owned a ZX-14 for 20K miles. I prefer my CBR to the bigger, heavier cruise missle.

Having said that, if I were going to commute 100 miles per day I would get something less expensive to put all those miles on and keep my sportbike for the weekends. A Bandit 1250 would probably be my first option with some type of luggage or bags to haul rain gear, lunch, cigs, tire repair kit, etc.

you say u already have a commuter bike, so this will be sort of luxury/commuter/sports. So the cbr its flexible u can go do a TD if u want. However on the contrary if you would end up commuting, you migth want to check out the HONDA 919 hornet, or the above mentioned bandit.

I already have the concours. Thats my commuter bike. Im just trying to figure out Which one between the busa and cbr can handle the most miles before an engine rebuild. No matter what I get Its going to get at least 16,000 miles on it per year.

as far as lasting the longest... i would say the busa... i have heard the the busa motor is just about bullet proof... unless you add a turbo. but if you keep up the preventative maintenance then both motors are capapble of 50K+ miles. I have heard of one busa at 167K miles

Odds are high you'll wreck the bike before the motor lets go, assuming proper scheuduled maintenance. This applies to both bikes.

Add for tires and gas the busa will be a costly commuter.

The engine can last quite a while. Go for earlier models and get one of each vs choosing one or the either. I understand you like the updates; the 1000rr is a very impressive bike and would be much better for track. Plus with the closed loop system the mpg numbers should be far superior to the busa.
