I recall a few years ago the Mexican importer of Aprilias had a spec race in Monterrey once a year for the RS125's.

I'm just confused as to why, if it's track only, they didn't cut costs on electrics and lighting?

Oh, I know, cause I'd put it on the street in heartbeat if I got one.

Pretty sweet lil bike
I've seen one at a few recent trackdays.
It's really trippy seeing the drive on the right side and the exhaust on the left
WTF lol

They designed it in front of a mirror.

Engine: Liquid cooled, single cylinder two stroke. Aluminium cylinder with Nikasil coated liner. Read valve intake. Separate lubrication. 32.5 hp.

Dry Weight: 280lbs.

Wheels: Aluminium alloy. Front 3.00 x 17”; rear 4,00 x 17”.

Tyres: Tubeless radial. Front 110/70 17”; rear 150/60 17”.

Lubrication: Separate mixing with variable displacement, volumetric pump.

So, good power, no premix, SV650 size tires.....it should be a cheap to run and maintain track ho.

Interesting.

What what top speeds are we looking at if the 250r barely tops 100mph?

Would this be more for GSS maybe MSRH?

These things were being demo'd at TWS (Texas World Speedway) in October of 2008, and a few have made the race track via AF1 in 2009. Think Aprilia Cup, one decade later.

as a track tool you will get incredibly frustrated unless you have some serious skills,
they handle beautifully but everything will pass you on the straights and then get in your way through the corners if like me you are just average!!
loads of fun though if there's a few of you on them.

In the one make series, the likes of which Casey Stoner cut his teeth on the lap times are very impressive but it's all made in the corner and on the brakes.

Rsv mille brakes and feels like a toy they are so light. Went to af1 and got face time with them. Aprilia wanted to give owners the option to make them street legal since it has all the equip to get you going

top speed????

i must i have missed it on google? is this something that with a small investment into it will perform at the Motogp 125cc level? I WISH they had a 250 - 500 and I'd be so interested in getting it street legal, perfect range of power for my taste

I would consider it if it was a 250. 125 just seems to small for the track.

the RS125 makes around 55-60hp. and is capable of running laptimes within 5-15 seconds of the 800cc MotoGP lap records. the RS250's make about 115-120hp and can run .2-10 seconds within the 800cc lap records. the rs125 will run circles around your average 600cc streetbike.
