Are you serious? The SV is an AWESOME track bike.

The first gen SV like the one pictured is one of the easiest to ride and the engine is very reliable.

Good mods with that one too.

I've heard it was better to get the SV 04 and up because that is when fuel injection started on those biles.
Now, regarding the rideability, I guess they are pretty good. I know Houseofpain decided to just keep racing the SV this year instead of the gixxer.

Fi started in '03, not '04. The '03+ bikes handle a bit differently than the first gen bikes do. I think the first gen are better.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than about $2k for that bike off the top of my head.

If you pass on the SV, shoot me a PM. I'd always buy another, especially when priced like that one.

One thing, and I am sure you are aware of this, SVs (like my DRZ) aren't the fastest on the straights, but are fun as everywhere else.

I've had 4 SV's for track bikes.. (3 1st gen 1 2nd gen)I can honestley say I prefer the 1st generations better.. they crash well and the motors are near bullet proof.. I personally like to sit "in the bike" so I usually take a fillet knife to the seat foam.. I'm 6'2'' and it's still ok.
Don't be scared about rapping out the motor on long straights like TWS (Texas World Speedway) with propper gearing and decent mod's SV's can run about the same as a stock 600..
I sold my last SV about a year and a half ago it was a 99.. sold it for 3k.
You need to jump on this deal and don't look back!
If you can find GSXR complete front end fork's triple etc it will bolt in IMO it just feels better (more weight though)
