To tell you the truth.....I never had any fear of them until I started analyzing them in classes. Basically you are 100 ft in the air on top of a slab of concrete with barriers on the side which were made by some guy using approximations ......

We had a member fall from one last year- hit and run. He made it- broke both legs, though.

Godspeed to the girl.

Me too! Although not really so much a "roller coaster"...

I just thought of them as the highest points (street-wise) in Houston. I used loved the Beltway 8 South to 59 North interchange! For as long as I've been in Houston ('89) and only up until very, very recently... I was never really swayed by the fact that it was a seriously high drop-off on the other side of that barrier.

It was only 2 months ago, when I actually caught myself thinking twice about it.

i dont know how passengers are so dumb to ride with no gear while the rider is geared up..........passengers have choices to make to when getting on the back....he was careless in his actions...but she was careless in not wearing gear. glad she made it though.

Wear a Lid ! FTW. im pretty sure the law states you must be over 21 and have bodily health insurance on your motorcycle to ride with no helmet.

For a passenger not to wear a helmet. I believe they have to be able to prove they have taken MSF and paid the fee not to wear a helmet.

How hard is it to put a lid on? Shopping for that badass lip is fun so wearing it is even better

The flyover from 45 to Woodlands Parkway is like that too.

BW8 / 59 seems like a mountain ridge though.

I try not to think about it and focus on the curve, traffic and speed.

Don't look over!
