Question air filter

i just bout a bmc air filter for the bike. can anyone tell me how to change it on an 09' r6? im a virgin. its my first time

prolly fairly the same way i do it on the r6s. take off the seat, raise the tank, pull the top of the airbox, swap filter, reassemble. should take you more than 10-15 mins from start to finish.

word of advice, if your doing it by yourself, its easier if you didn't just fillup your tank.

i was a bit off, the r6 is a bit different from the r6s. see images above from the service manual for an 08 r6.

i would take note in the instructions to apply locktite (blue) on the air filter bolt threads as if they back out they will be sucked into the engine and that would be bad

those screws arent coming out of the airfilter box, unless u yank them out, but then the filter is broken anyway

MAKE SURE THEY GAVE YOU THE RIGHT FILTER!!

r6 and r6s are completely different but cyclegears parts catalog does not reflect that...if u got from cyclegear then definitely check

taken my filter out many times and never used lock tight on the bolts. They have never came even slightly loose.
