I think we all started on the street. I think we went to Crabb and Fayetteville rides together. I also know that opinions change as we grow and you are entitled to it.

I also think that this topic has been beaten to death. Motohouston is about the entire community, not just one section of it. We encompass all riders, whether it is street, stunt, dirt, or track. It is also because of this that some of us have formed lifelong friendships.

Ok, so I'm sorry if you think I worded this thread the wrong way, I wasn't trying to write a fkn book though. . .I'm not trying to stir a pot, incite drama, or get a rise outta people. . .

I'd just like to make sure I'm not the only one who thinks it can be a joke. . .

And this thread is directed towards people like myself who ride 100+HP bikes on the street, and ride them aggressively. . .

Well...I'll contribute.

I have donelike 4 weekends in a row and a race. I rode last night, on teh street, and never indicated more than 90mph. Im regeared so probably like 80mph true.

I have gotten more than enough adrenalyn fix and had no desire to haul around town last night. Its a good feeling.

In the cars I did the same thing I do on the bike...

I'm tired of how uppity everyone gets once they hit the track.

A lot of it depends on where you ride. I learned to ride while living on the side of a mountain in southwestern Virginia. Gorgeous area. Tons of gorgeous, curvy roads switch-backing up and down the mountains with hardly a cage to be found. Not to mention cooler temps and even an occasional patch of snow off the side even in the middle of summer.

Riding a sportbike in Houston... I agree. It's hardly worth it. Adrenaline comes from all the traffic around you, not the sweeping curves. I was out in the hill country west of San Antonio last autumn: the three sisters ftw! They reminded me why I ride a motorcycle! Inclines, sharp curves, beautiful vistas...

Re: sport bikes? To each his own. Driving up a sharp incline (and around the curve) is a lot more fun with few more ponies to keep you at speed. And even moreso if the bike is still nimble enough to really make the turn tight.

I'm hoping to discover good things at my first outing to the track this weekend. A mountain surrogate, perhaps, exchanging the beautiful landscapes for a more intense focus on the task at hand.
