welcome Kelly. good choice on starter bikes. i think that u might want to put a few 10s of thousand miles on it before going up to a r6.
ever heard of the 3000 mile jinx?
alot of new riders think that after they hit 3000 miles they are Pros and thats when they seem to have a bad wreck.
ride what u got and don't take no from others,
show how smart u are by starting small

Howdy!

It happened to me thats for sure. I had a new '05 ZZR600 and a lady pulled out in front of me. :eh: Totalled the bike though the slow speed kept me from serious injury. Still If you really want to move up Id suggest the Ninja 650 or 500. The R6 is a VERY popular bike with theives and schools are a favorite spot for them to case. The same goes with the Gixxer models, also pure sportbikes can somtimes be uncomfortable after long periods of riding. Anyone can ride a bike, I have met very few though who can really say they have mastered it. So tell anyone that gripes on your bike to shove it. The fact your willing to ride one in the face of the common belief of motorcycles being 'too dangerous' is all the proof real riders will ever need.
