Wrecked the R1!!

Ok so my husband was driving to work this morning and it was a normal morning he left and he always call me every morning to let me know he made it to work so I dont stress, Well this morning it hit 8 and still no call so I started to think about it and wonder but just thought he hit traffic or something. About 10 min later he finally calls and tells me to come pick him up from work I asked why he told me he wrecked the bike I thought he was lieing to me and then I can hear it in his voice he was hurt. So I asked if he was ok he said no and I told him I was on my way. I met him at the hospital he was walking but seemed to be hurting. They checked him out after I cussed out one of the ladys there for telling me they would not treat him since he had no medical insurance. But they did anyway and he bruised his hip and got some road rash on his back and knees. He did have on a helmet, jacket, boots and gloves so he was protected some. They think he might have bruised something in his chest to. But he was able to walk out of there. Now to tell you how...He was going down Gellhorn st. off 610 and came up on a pothole he was only doing about 25-30 mph. His front wheel dropped in the hole and it was a big hole probably about 3 ft wide and it was deep to.When he hit his front tire blew out and the bike threw him off flipped over on top of him and then they both went sliding he went about 10-15 ft and the bike went just a little further. The bike needs alot of work done to it now the back end of the back twisted a little bit and the front is really bad but so happy he came out of it with just very minor injuries. Be careful out there and watch very close where you drive. Sorry its so long just had to tell you what happened.

Sorry about the accident. Those pot holes are dangerous. I've read more than one bent rim story.

It may be true. My Mother in Law tripped on a busted up side walk down town and they paid he med bills. They had it scheduled for repair for months.

Major bummer!

Sorry to hear. Sometimes things just come from nowhere and there's nothing you can do. I've hit a price of wood that almost threw me off the bike at 70mph, luckly I just got wicked headshake but recovered from it.

Heal up!

Gear FTW!

Glad he's OK. I hit a pothole about a month ago and bent both rims. Had to have them straightened. Luckily I was able to maintain control of the bike. Oh did I mention potholes suck?
